Essex Bully's
As a lover of the British Bulldog, but not a fan of those defects and problems that seem to haunt them throughout the generations, I wanted to find an alternative to the BB that would enable me to own a dog that was similar in many ways, but didnt have all the health problems attached to it, and I found this exact thing in THE VICTORIAN BULLDOG.
This dog is a cross between other bullbreeds, ( Including the BB ) which has enabled breeders to breed these dogs in order to eliminate some, ( and eventually hopefully all ) of the problems which BB's are renowned for. The idea of doing this, and therefore creating your own line, was first thought of, and undertaken by Mr Ken Mollet, and he successfully bred a fitter, healthier bulldog which we have today in the form of the Victorian Bulldog, ( Bulldogs bred by Mr Mollet, or indeed have these dogs in the bloodline can be identified as they are known as A MOLLET BULLDOG , and these are generally regarded as a great example of the breed) Essex Bulldogs came to be due my love of bulldogs, and my wifes knowledge of breeding Boxers, we are not commercial breeders, we are just people who have a love of the breed and so we have joined forces with other kennels, and are members of the V.B.A ( Victorian Bullbeed Alliance ) in a bid to carry on the fantastic work which was originally started by Mr Mollet, our aim being to improve the breed and create our own line. |
